IBM and JSR needed a case study that could communicate advanced quantum-enabled materials discovery without flattening the science or losing cultural nuance. The challenge was to make semiconductor research and photolithography emotionally engaging, scientifically faithful, and visually elegant for a global audience.
As Executive Producer and Creative Director, I led the creative vision for a landmark case study filmed in Japan around IBM Quantum and JSR's work in materials science and photolithography. The project required deep collaboration with scientists, strong trust-building with the Japanese client team, and a production approach sensitive to both technical accuracy and local context.
I worked closely with researchers to translate highly specialized concepts into a cinematic story structure that could hold both intellectual weight and human presence. To extend that clarity, I guided The Mill's creative team in building scientific animations that accurately visualized photolithography and quantum-enabled discovery.
The film was designed not just as a technical proof point, but as a refined expression of partnership, innovation, and scientific ambition. Custom music and carefully developed visuals helped turn a dense subject into an emotionally resonant and globally credible story.
